We arrived by car in Trinidad quite late, it was dark. It was to be almost 22h. We knocked on the doors of « casas particulares » (homestays), recommended by the Guide du Routard but everything was booked. One of the owners eventually redirect us towards a casa least known where it was possible that a room is available. And indeed, there was one room in « Marilú y Nelson. » Although we did not have the best rooms, we were exhausted by over 10h thus road no risk to play tough and this hour, it was almost a miracle to have found at a price more than reasonable (I do not remember the price, except it was not expensive). There was a larger room upstairs which looked directly onto the terrace and occupied by an Italian couple.
We were greeted warmly by the family that prepared us a dinner on the terrace. Rice, salads, fish, beans … the profusion gave me dizzy. I was really annoyed because the XXL mango juice was ample enough for me, I was not hungry. It was good, even though I had almost hit anything. (Given that Cuba is not the country where I ate the best abroad …).
A delight to come across this family. Smiling, helpful, kind …
Full cracked their little dog had fun playing with an iguana by pulling the string with which it was attached.
The next day, royal breakfast on the terrace.
In short, I recommend this address 🙂
